How It All Started
Our journey began with personal transformation, not business plans.
Tina started Space to Thrive after her own lifestyle change transformed everything. Running became her lifeline through difficult times, leading to better mental health, increased energy, and a completely new outlook on life. But it wasn't just about getting fitter – it was about discovering how powerfully connected our minds and bodies really are.
Her studies in Psychology opened her eyes to environmental psychology and how crucial our surroundings and support systems are for wellbeing. This unique combination of personal experience and academic understanding showed her that true health isn't just about exercise or nutrition in isolation – it's about bringing together mental and physical wellbeing.
Working in the NHS reinforced this belief whilst also revealing how much misinformation exists around nutrition and health. She got frustrated seeing people given advice that simply didn't work – advice that ignored the psychological side of creating lasting change.
Matt always wanted to be a personal trainer since school, but life got in the way. Family commitments and work meant the dream was put on hold for years.
Then COVID happened. Suddenly there was time to finally pursue those qualifications and join the business Tina had started.
What makes us different? We understand that lasting change happens when you address both mind and body together. While other services might focus purely on workouts or diet plans, we know that your environment, mindset, and support system are just as important as the exercises you do or the food you eat.
This is why we call it 'Space to Thrive' – because we create the right physical and mental space for real, sustainable change.

Tina blends strength-focused personal training with holistic coaching to help clients feel capable, consistent, and confident—especially when training for something new. Whether it’s building a plan, establishing habits, or staying motivated, she provides the tools and support needed to take on that first fitness challenge and keep going beyond it.

Understands what it takes to build habits, confidence, and motivation from the ground up
Focused on strength, performance, and helping clients prepare for their first fitness event
